Founded in 1969

Jerome & Joan Salvas started Salvas Paving out of a small inn they owned in Stowe. After selling the Inn they moved the business to an old farm that was down the road, which is where it remains today.

Their son, Dean was groomed at a young age to help with the family business and would tag along with Jerry to learn the ropes. After graduating from Stowe High School, Dean attended Westminster College where he got a degree in business. After graduation in 1983 he joined his parents in running Salvas Paving.

In 1984, Jerry decided to expand into the excavating business as well. After acquiring a core group of hardworking employees Joan and Jerry handed over operation of the entire business over to Dean.

Salvas Inc. has now moved away from paving services and concentrates more on being an excavating and aggregate supply business. We provide services to individuals, corporations, municipalities and the State of Vermont.
